[ writing is slightly sloppy, but a little bigger and more spaced-out than normal]

Okay, I think I found my journal. Or I found a journal-like object and nobody can see what I'm writing.

If you can see what I'm writing, you're doing better than me, because I can't even see what I'm writing. And since the elevators are shut down, I'm guessing this wonderful thick green fog that I can't see through is ministry-wide. At least it doesn't smell horrible. Kind of like old books, actually.

Parvati, I have no idea how long this is going to last, could you pick Jay up from daycare later if they don't get this fixed soon enough?

It's always nice having Jay for an extra night. Makes me wish I had him here more than just every other week

I might use some of my saved-up time off to travel later this year. My publisher wants me to do another book on traditions and celebrations in other cultures. I'm thinking Africa, since I didn't spend much time in Africa beyond Egypt last time I was there, and I'm sure the origins and stories of their traditions and celebrations are fascinating.

Warded to Parvati
I don't think he'd want to come the whole time I'd be gone, if I headed to Africa to do research, but what would you think about Jay coming with me for part of the trip?

Right now it's just a vague idea of a trip, I haven't even started planning or looking at when I could take a big chunk of time off. I just thought I'd bring it up.

One of my favourite things of having my son here is that I know I'll never leave the house wearing a tie that doesn't match my shirt. Jay and I spent ten minutes this morning picking out a tie for me to wear to the office today.

And now that we've further confirmed that he is, in fact, learning a lot from his mum, we're going to the park to climb some trees.
